UPDATES
Dear SEAADE participants,
Greetings from Cambodia!
Thank you for joining us in this year’s SEAADE meeting. We have some updates for you regarding the conference.
1. PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
We would like to inform you that all pre-conference workshops on 24 November are now FREE of charge. Please go online to register for these workshops (if you haven’t yet). We will be refunding the amount at the venue to those who have paid for the workshops.
Kindly note that the Workshop 2 – “Special Care Dentistry” led by Prof. Raman Bedi and A/Prof Dr. Jacob John is a closed session and seats are full. It will run from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Please also note that Workshop 6 – “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall . . . A Tale of Reflective Learning for Students and Educators” by A/P Wong Mun Loke has been cancelled. You are welcome to attend another workshop in the afternoon instead.
2. BANK CHARGES
When transferring money through a bank, some participants forgot to include bank fees. We will be collecting these small amounts separately when you come to Siem Reap.
Meanwhile, we are providing receipts to all participants for their entire registration amounts (not the amount deposited to our account after deductions).
3. GALA DINNER AND CULTURAL PERFORMANCES
We hope each country attending will organize a performance during the Gala dinner. We will have a stage and sound system – but not a video screen. Please prepare a 5 minute performance, and bring your music with you.
Welcome (Poolside) Dinner Theme – Casual
Gala Dinner Theme – Traditional Attire
4. GETTING FROM AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL
You can download “GRAB”or “PASSAPP” – apps which are mostly used in Cambodia, to get a taxi or tuk-tuk to the hotel when you arrive. Or just get a cab at the airport directly. The Sokhalay Angkor Hotel charges a fee of $10 (one trip) for airport pick-up or drop-off – you can book in advance. Please contact: tel: +85512 591592 or +85563968222 or at info@sokhalayangkor.com
We hope to provide some pick-up services for speakers and counselors. It is likely that some LOC members will be there at the airport on 23th and 24th November, so do look out for the SEAADE sign and they can help you.
5. SIGHTSEEING
A tour operator will be available at the hotel to make arrangements for any tourist activities you might want to partake in. When you arrive, please let the hotel staff know so they can make the necessary arrangements.
6. SATURDAY EVENING (26th Nov)
We are planning an evening excursion to downtown Siem Reap. For those who are interested, we will be going to the night market and Pub street which are very popular with tourists. At the conference registration counter, you can sign up for a seat on the bus (limited seats only).
7. PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
For Oral Presentations: All accepted presenters will have a 10 min presentation time with 5 min for Q&A. Kindly prepare your presentations accordingly. On 25th we will have presentations from those who entered the competition and on 26th all the non-competition entries.
For Poster Presentations: The size of our poster boards is 150cm tall (from the ground to the top) and 77cm wide. We recommend your poster size is a maximum of 120cm tall x 77 cm wide.
This is all we have for now. If you have any further questions kindly let me know. We’ll be seeing you soon in Siem Reap.
