Relevance of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in Dental Education : Developing the Essentials
Synopsis:
Training programmes based on Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) are mostly seen in postgraduate programmes and its use in undergraduate programs has only been described recently. Entrustability of the undergraduate is not clearly defined and the definitions of competencies with EPAs are poorly understood by the stakeholders. This workshop will shed light from the experiences of facilitators who have developed EPAs for an innovative undergraduate dental programme.
This is an interactive workshop with sharing of experiences and the process in developing EPAs for undergraduate dental education. Participants will then be given the opportunity in formulating their own EPAs for their respective programmes. At the end of this workshop, participants will gain insight into using EPAs in ensuring the programme produces safe dental practitioners.
