A/P Hoang Trong Hung is the vice-dean in charge and Head of Department of Dental Public Health and Faculty of Odonto-Stomatology in the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at HCMC, Vietnam. He is also Regent of Vietnam ICD Region 31, Vice-President, HCM city Odonto-Stomatological Association (HOSA)and President-Elect of  IADR-SEA Division.

A/P Hung received his  DDS from University of Medicine and Pharmacy at HCMC in 1995, his Certificate of Dental Public Health in 2002, hisMSc of Odonto-Stomatology in 2003, Diploma of Oral Surgery in 2005,  Certificate of Dental Implant in 2007, Certificate of Orthodontics in 2017 and his PhD of Odonto-Stomatology in 2017.

His Major research areas include oral disease epidemiology, preventive dentistry, water fluoridation, behavioral sciences in oral health and oral health promotion and dental education.

Prof. Hung has been Invited as speaker and key speaker in many local and international dental conferences since 2005

He has been recipient of the following International Scientific Awards:

▪ 2003: Second Prize of Travel Award from IADR-SEA Division in 2003.
▪ 2007: “Best Project” in 2nd UKM (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia) Periodontology Symposium, Periodontal Health Promotion Programme Competition held at Kuala Lumpur on the 26-27th of October, 2007.
▪ 2011: “Poster Award” at the 3rd Workshop on Bio-Dental Education & Research in Hiroshima, University of Hiroshima, Japan, January 28-30, 2011.
▪ 2019: “Third Prize” for Oral Presentation at the 30th Annual Scientific Meeting of the South East Asia Association For Dental Education, SEAADE 2019.
▪ 2021: “ Best paper for Innovations in Dental Education during the COVID-19” at the SEAADE meeting 2021.
