Dr. SOEURN Visal
A delegation from the Faculty of Medicine including Dr. Prom Vireak (Deputy Dean for Clinical Affairs), Dr. Yi Vannary (Assistant Dean for Education) and Dr. Thao Titya (Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs), participated on 10th-11th November 2023 in the 7th Vietnam National Medical Education Conference in Ho Chi Minh City.
The theme of the conference was “Assessment in Competency-Based Medical Education: Challenges and Solutions”. The conference included workshops, topic presentations and poster presentations from Vietnamese and international speakers, and focused particularly on the assessment in OSCE, the design of high-level thinking MCQs based on Bloom’s taxonomy, and the assessment in workplace-based medical education.
During the visit, Dr. Prom Vireak, Dr. Yi Vannary and Dr. Thao Titya had the opportunity to observe case-based education being delivered in the subject of organic chemistry to MD year 1 students.
They also visited the Advanced Clinical Simulation Training Center.
On the second day of the visit, Dr. Yi Vannary presented the challenges encountered in the first cycle of the Competency-Based Medical Education project and the adjustments made in order to improve the quality of medication education at UP. A second cycle will now start and a new meeting is planned in 2024
