Today the Law Debate Club discussed the relevance of two big theories of international order, namely Realism and Liberalism, as they play out in contemporary issues. Both the Dean Dr. Virak and Professor of international relations Mr. Vannak conducted the sessions and had Law students argue over imaginary and real issues ranging from the freedom to choose work to the art of resolving border conflicts to how to win the elections using the foreign policy platform alone. Starting out with review questions, the debate then critically challenged students to propose and defend their positions. Although both teams put forward sharp arguments, Liberalism narrowly came out as winner this time. We look forward to another debate soon.
