UP’s Faculty of ICT Team joined the provincial campaign to promote UPs IT programs.
UPs Bachelor of Science in Information Technology combines technical skills with real-world business insights to increase both employability and salaries in the ever-changing digital world. This program allows students to choose between two majors:
• Database & Programming: this major concentrates on the theory and the design of computer systems. Students will learn how to write various programming languages used for software development and operating systems. Topics covered include Software Engineering, Software development (desktop, web, mobile), Database design and Database system administration, Artificial Intelligence, IT Project Management. Careers include: Software developer (desktop, web, mobile), Software tester, Software architect, Database administrator, IT Project Manager etc
• Networking: this major focus on the administration of systems and networks. Main subjects are: Cisco CCNA1-4, Linux administration, Network analysis & design, Network Security, Cloud computing, Web server, IT Project Management, IT Research Methodology. Careers include: System administrator, Network Engineer / Administrator, Information Systems Administrator, Information technology Specialist, Security analyst etc
