I. Position Summary:

  • Lead the UP Nursing Department to be the top School of Nursing in Technical Practice in Cambodia.
  • Work with HON, to plan and coordinate technical practice laboratories, necessary for high quality clinical training of UP nursing students
  • Provide best practice, student-centered, education in accordance with MOH nursing curriculum requirements to ensure that UP nursing students are competent at graduation.

II. Duties and Responsibilities:
The overall job description below outlines the main areas of responsibilities of the Employee:

  • Lead and coordinate the management of Technical Practice across ADN & BSN nursing programs ensuring a high quality of clinical practice for students and the Nursing Department
  • Assist lecturers, in a timely manner, and participate in the implementation of TP as required, to provide students with high quality technical practice skills.
  • Lead and coordinate OSCE training and practice for graduating nurses across programs, according to MOH curriculum guidelines, ensuring UP nursing students are offered optimal opportunities to improve their skill base prior to graduation.
  • Oversee the inventory, restocking and maintenance of all nursing equipment required for clinical training, reporting to appropriate UP personal.
  • Plan and teach assigned courses (theory and practice) and develop course outlines, ensuring they are best practice, continually updated and linked in with other relevant courses
  • Participate in and plan implementation of community practicum for AND & BSN student nurses ensuring evidenced based learning of community health.
  • Actively participate in nursing research activity and undertake professional development appropriate to role.
  • Carry out exam and other academic processes required, liaising with lecturers, Academic Affairs and other UP departments as necessary, ensuring a high standard of communication and reporting to HOD.
  • Perform other functions appropriate to the position as may be directed by the HOD.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Experience:

  • Minimum 12 months clinical nursing experience
  • Minimum 12 months clinical teaching experience
  • Indepth knowledge of nursing equipment required for undergraduate training
  • Ability to work with lecturers under pressure
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Immediate proficiency in English language
  • Ability to train new staff in specialty area of technical practice training successfully.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning as a member of a strong nursing team.
  • Strong computer and administration skills
  • Commitment to completing tasks successfully

2. Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Certificate in Teaching and Learning Course
  • Post graduate study in the health sciences (Preferred)

3. Skills/Competencies:

  • Ensuring high quality technical practice skills for many, diverse students.
  • TP scheduling due to limited laboratory resources and all lecturers requiring resources at similar times
